J.S. Buchanan Retires
It is with great regret that we announce the retirement of Julius, “J.S”, Buchanan on May 10th, 2017. J.S. started with Osprey on July 13th, 1998 as the Manager of Purchasing.
J.S. was born and raised in Atlanta, Ga. He attended Southern Technology from 1963 to 1965. In 1968, he enrolled in the Army and served in the Vietnam War. J.S. was a platoon sergeant for the 101st Airborne. He ended his career in the military in 1970, and re-enrolled in school where he studied mechanical engineering.
He and his wife, Sandra “Grace” Buchanan will be celebrating their 52nd wedding anniversary in August. They have twin sons, Ashley “Lyle” and Mark Sheldon Buchanan. J.S. enjoys activities such as woodworking, target shooting, mechanical work on cars, and riding motorcycles. J.S. is a member of the American Legion and the Patriot Guard Riders. The Patriot Guard Riders volunteer their time to protect and escort American soldier’s funerals. They also donate and raise money so that fallen soldiers have proper burials. He plans to continue his volunteer work as well as spending more time with his family.
J.S. says he will miss the freedom, flexibility, and family atmosphere that Osprey provided. J.S. says he will not miss the commute to work, but he will miss the people here at Osprey. We hope he will visit us from time to time, and wish him the best in his retirement. All of us at Osprey would like to thank him not only for his 19 years of service to Osprey but also for his loyal service to our country.
