Crammer Feeder

Purpose

Osprey’s scrap Crammer Feeder is designed for recycling applications where low bulk density plastic film is processed through a pelletizing extruder. Osprey Crammer Feeders are used in recycling scrap material such as PE film, LDPE film, HDPE flake, BOPP film, PET film, and others.

Application

Film scrap is size reduced via a film grinder or shredder. Once sized reduced, the scrap reclaim material is typically air conveyed to a cyclone mounted on top of the Crammer Feeder. Agitator arms inside the hopper prevent material bridging and keep material flowing. A custom design auger delivers material to the extruder uniformly without generating excessive temperature or pressure which can cause surging.

Features

Standard features include variable speed feed auger, matching extruder throat flange, cyclone feed system with filter, and reinforced top plate design to reduce reducer/motor thrust.
