Waste Management & Sustainability Policy
Osprey supplies our customers with waste management and recycling solutions. We believe that it is only right for us to follow the same guiding principles that we ask of our customers when considering an Osprey system.
Our long-term vision is to have no manufacturing waste going to landfill from the production of our equipment. Not only do we seek to eliminate our own waste, but we are also working with our vendor partners to determine best practices to reduce and recycle materials used in their production of our products.
In July 2017, we started a program to identify waste and scraped materials that have the potential to be recycled or repurposed. In some cases, procedures were evaluated before production even begins.
Major waste streams have been identified such as steel, lumber, plastics, paint, and cardboard/paper. A program is being developed to address the proper handing, organization, and storage of waste and scrap materials to minimize the potential impact on the environment. Employees have been made aware of the program, and input is encouraged on how we can constantly improve.
We have developed a sustainability performance metrics to measure our program’s progress. Osprey believes it is our responsibility to act and operate our business in an environmentally responsible manner. We will strive to set an example that others will follow.
