The Season of Giving 2019
On December 20th, Osprey Corporation held our annual Christmas luncheon. As we gathered with their spouses, significant others, and children, we were reminded that the holiday season is a time for giving. This year Osprey Corporation donated to the Peachtree Creek Greenway. The Greenway is located next to Osprey Corporation. It connects 4 cities in the Atlanta area. The Greenway a linear multi-use park and trail that will connect communities, provide transportation options, enhance the environment, encourage economic opportunities, and promotes healthy lifestyles for residents, workers, and visitors. Members of the Peachtree Creek Greenway Inc (PCG) were introduced during our luncheon and informed our employees and guests about the trail. Members included Board Member, Darryl W. Clark, and Treasurer, Meredith O’Connor. Our President, Kirk Harpole, presented the members with a donation. The trail officially opened December 12th. In attendance were Janelle Ware of Osprey Corporation, Brookhaven Mayor John A. Ernst, Jr., City Counsel, PCG, and many legislators within the Atlanta community. Currently, the trail connects Atlanta, Brookhaven, Chamblee, Dekalb, and Doraville. The trail consists of:
12 miles of alternative transport and recreation
4 cities/2 counties
44 neighborhoods
20 schools
12 hotels
8 work centers
2 multi-use trails
7 parks
2 MARTA Stations
6 MARTA Bus Lines
The trail is expected to grow and provide visitors a scenic route that will lead all the way into Alabama. Osprey employees will have access to the trail, and we encourage them to use it during breaks. It is a great opportunity to stay healthy and maintain goals as we begin 2020. We look forward to the many opportunities the trail brings to our community. Here at Osprey we are fortunate to help improve our community, and we appreciate the opportunity to serve a great cause.
