Recycling for the Community

Osprey’s Jeanne Jones, has been using our scrap filter media to bring comfort and support to our Georgia community over the past 16 years. Jeanne discovered a resourceful method to repurpose the scrap media and materials by creating pet beds. This discovery led to an impactful charitable resource.

Jeanne has partnered with local animal shelters, K-9 units, and the Gwinnett County Jail to utilize the pet beds in their facilities. The padded beds bring comfort to dogs in an inmate-training program at the Gwinnett County Jail.

The media pieces have been found to provide additional functionality. They are now being used in wheelchairs for comfort and to help regulate body temperature of terminally ill patients.

Recently, Osprey Corporation donated dozens of pet beds to the Life Line Animal Services in Dekalb County. These pet beds will help bring comfort to the shelter’s dogs and cats who sit on concrete floors for the duration of their day. Employees have also volunteered for Life Line by food contributions, adoption events, dog walking, and positive interaction with cats.

Osprey would like to thank Jeanne Jones for her resourcefulness to our community. She has been an inspiration to Osprey, and we will continue to recycle, donate, and volunteer.
